Mission

The Center for Training and Lifelong Learning (K.E.DI.VI.M.) of the University of West Attica (UNIWA) is the body through which the University offers and certifies education of all forms, beyond the formal education system (initial and continuing professional training, specialization, retraining).

 

Through its various activities, it aims:

 

  • To create active and self-sufficient citizens for meaningful participation in the economic and social life at the local, national, and European levels, focusing on facilitating and smoothing social integration, ensuring equal opportunities, and strengthening social cohesion.
  • To enhance the bonds of the University and develop strong synergies with society, scientific and professional bodies to provide high-level training, professional development, and specialization in its areas of activity, in line with the trends and evolving demands for knowledge and skills.
  • To develop strategic collaborations with national, European, and international policy-making and innovation bodies in lifelong learning, aiming at modernization and overall promotion and enhancement of the quality of lifelong education systems and operations at an international level.
  • To enter into programmatic agreements with local government bodies, educational institutions, recognized public and private lifelong learning entities, professional and social organizations, and other reputable bodies, with the goal of jointly developing and implementing training programs, lifelong learning programs, adult education programs, educational needs assessments, educational materials, and other activities that align with its goals and mission.
  • To conduct research, strengthen international scientific collaborations, and involve the University in research and development projects in the field of lifelong learning.
  • To utilize new technologies for the remote provision of lifelong learning programs and systematize the design and production of high-quality electronic educational materials.
  • To provide a systematic framework for organizing and implementing programs that guarantees their compatibility with the role of a public university, the effectiveness, reliability, and validity of the provided educational services, while also ensuring the certification of the awarded titles and qualifications.

 

The utilization of the University’s renowned academic and scientific personnel, along with its excellent infrastructure, ensures the organization and delivery of high-level training, continuing education, and lifelong learning programs, which meet the needs of citizens for acquiring additional knowledge and skills that will contribute to their personal development, updating and adapting to technological, economic, geopolitical, social, legal, and cultural changes, and promoting their active participation in the labor market.

The work of K.E.DI.VI.M. at UNIWA and all its partners is subject to internal quality assurance evaluation processes, while external evaluation and certification of the quality of its educational or training programs are carried out by the Quality Assurance and Certification Authority in Higher Education (A.DI.P.).
