The Center for Training and Lifelong Learning (K.E.DI.VI.M.) is an independent academic unit of the University of West Attica and has distinct governing bodies from those of the Institution (Article 112 of Law 4957/2022).
According to the provisions of Article 114 of Law 4957/2022, the governing bodies of K.E.DI.VI.M. of the University of West Attica are:
a) The Council of the Center
b) The President of the Council of the Center.
The Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Lifelong Learning has been appointed as the President of the Council of the Center, and the Council consists of faculty members representing all six Schools of the University of West Attica (one representative from each School along with their respective substitute). Additionally, following a public call to the academic community of the University of West Attica, a Director of Training for K.E.DI.VI.M. has been appointed, who participates in the Council of the Center without voting rights.
Administratively, K.E.DI.VI.M. is supported by an administrative unit, the level of which was determined by Decision no. 68015/14-07-2023 of the University’s Rectorial Council (Government Gazette 4607/18-07-2023). Recognizing the importance of the work of K.E.DI.VI.M., the University of West Attica has integrated this administrative unit at the Directorate level, which operates independently and does not fall under a higher General Directorate, but directly under the responsible Vice-Rector.
This independent unit is entitled “Directorate of the Center for Training and Lifelong Learning,” and its operational goal is to support the functions and activities of K.E.DI.VI.M. It includes the following Departments:
