The Academy of Environmental Educators is considered a pioneer in educating the new generation of environmental educators, joining the formal, non-formal, and informal promotion of responsible environmental behavior and health promotion. Participants can successfully contribute to the school system in environmental centers, cruise ships, museums, gardens, media of mass communication, and where they can engage in issues related to Environmental Education, Public / Community / Environmental Health.
The Academy of Environmental Educators aims to establish a new path of education, which is pioneering for Greek standards and is based on the needs of specialization of those who train in Health Education and Environmental Health issues. The Academy also focuses on providing skills so that trainees can successfully handle communication on environmental and health issues.
The ultimate goal is active participation in decision-making related to the environment and health through actions aimed at promoting environmental health to protect citizens and all social groups.
The program is addressed to students and graduates of environmental sciences, health and welfare sciences, biological and natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. It is also aimed at postgraduate students of related studies, and those who work or have worked as trainers, interpreters, journalists and are interested in becoming actively involved in Environmental Education,

Professor of Environmental Education and Communication
Professor Ms. Constantina Skanavis graduated from the School of Public Health at the University of Los Angeles, California, USA. In 2019, she moved to the Department of Public and Community Health at the University of West Attica, where she holds the rank of Professor in Environmental Education and Communication.
She was appointed as the first Dean of the newly established School of Public Health of the University of West Attica.
From 2000-2019, she was Director of the Laboratory of Environmental Education and Communication at the University of the Aegean, where she served as Professor of the Department of Environment.
From 1988-2000, she was a Professor at Los Angeles State University, California, USA, working in Environmental Communication, Environmental Health, and Health Education. She has designed and offered university courses in Environmental Health, Education and Communication, and Health Promotion both in the USA and in Greece.
Professor Konstantina Skanavis is the author of multiple articles, chapters, and books on an international level and has presented her work in hundreds of lectures and speeches in many different countries. Her research interests include the promotion of Responsible Environmental Behavior and Health Promotion and the active participation of citizens in decision-making on environmental and public health issues through communication strategies. She is engaged with both formal and non-formal and informal forms of education to reach all social groups.
